With a population of 270,000, Hull city prides itself as the 8th largest city in the UK, located on the North Bank of the Humber Estrary. The city is practically divided into two by river Hull while being strategically placed as a link that connects Ireland and Britain to northern Europe via the E20 trade corridor.
On the industrial front, Hull city is a business hub with a number of multinational corporations pitting camp in the region. Some of the companies that have dominated the area include; Nothern foods, BP chemicals, Smith & Nephew industries, Rank Havis, Kimberly Clerk and Reckit Benkiser.
The UK commercial property segment has witnessed an impressive performance and Hull city has not been short of remarkable investments that can be divided into earlier completed projects, most recently completed projects and the upcoming projects. • Regional companies’ offices, commercial properties in Hull City and the impeccable shopping centre known as Princes Quay, both located at the town centre.
• St. Stephens development which is still a work in progress that is estimated to cost 160 million pounds, also located at the town centre. This project when complete will cover a 40 acre of prime land, made up of a transport interchange, a shopping centre, a hotel and a residential property.
• The Queens garden complex which houses the new BBC studios and top floor with more than 100 apartments.
Some of the spots that are either due for development or redevelopment include the Marina area which is being remodeled by City build and the Hull regeneration company with the aim of turning it into a leisure and retail hub. There is also the development of the island of Wharf near the Marina which is to accommodate the new Headquarters of Northern Foods.
